Area Overview

Business Bay is a mixed commercial and residential district, launched in 2003 under Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's plan for a new central business quarter and developed by Dubai Properties as an extension of Dubai Creek. Around 18.5% of its area is given to commercial use, and its more than 240 towers combine Grade-A offices occupied by international companies with freehold apartments, serviced residences and hotels. Residents are predominantly young professionals and business owners drawn by proximity to Downtown Dubai and DIFC, while most residential buyers are investors targeting that rental demand. Developers active here include Omniyat, DAMAC, Emaar, Binghatti, Ellington, Select Group, Danube and Al Habtoor Group.
