The Dubai Water Canal runs 3.2 kilometres from Business Bay beneath Sheikh Zayed Road, between Al Wasl and Jumeirah, to meet Dubai Creek and the Arabian Gulf. Opened in late 2016 and developed with Meydan Sobha and Meraas, it created new waterfront and islands close to Downtown Dubai.
